# Hermes Agent v0.6.0: profiles for isolated instances, MCP server mode, fallback provider chains

## What changed


- Profiles: multiple isolated instances from one install, each with own config, memory, sessions, skills, and gateway service; `hermes profile create`, `hermes -p <name>`, export/import, token-lock isolation preventing credential reuse across profiles
- `hermes mcp serve` exposes conversations, message reading, cross-session search, and attachments over MCP (stdio and Streamable HTTP transports)
- Official Dockerfile covering CLI and gateway modes with volume-mounted config
- `fallback_providers` config: ordered failover to the next provider when the primary errors or is unreachable

- Slack multi-workspace OAuth via token file, resolved per incoming event
- Telegram webhook mode as an alternative to polling, plus group mention gating (always / @mention only / regex triggers)
- Exa added as a web search and content extraction backend alongside Firecrawl and DuckDuckGo
- Skill directories and credential files can be mounted into Modal and Docker remote backends
- Behaviour change: with no provider configured, Hermes now raises an explicit error instead of silently routing to OpenRouter
- Fix: switching providers via `hermes model` clears stale `api_mode` instead of hardcoding `chat_completions`, resolving 404s on Anthropic-compatible endpoints
- Gemini 3.1 preview models added to OpenRouter and Nous Portal catalogs; gpt-5.4-mini added to the Codex fallback catalog
- Scope: 95 PRs, 16 resolved issues in 2 days
