# Oh My Pi 17.2.7: omptype replaces arktype, 100x faster schema validation

## What changed


- **omptype**: new ArkType-compatible schema library with lazy JIT compiler (specializes on 3rd call), rich string DSL, TypeBox/Zod adapters, recursive aliases, runtime generics, tuples, JSON Schema draft-2020-12 emission. 100x faster schema construction, 60-100x faster validation.
- **pi-coding-agent**: arktype replaced with omptype for tool/config schemas; config errors reported via OmpErrors. Tool wrappers no longer strip schema methods. `agent()` calls in evaluation cells respect turn cancellation. `tail` builtin exits with SIGPIPE (code 141) instead of error. In-process `ps` supports procps/BSD format specifiers (tpgid, pri, flags, wchan, etc.). `install.sh` smoke-tests binary on musl systems. Codex config.toml ignores disabled MCP servers. Bash pattern allow rules accept quoted metacharacters.
- **Fixes**: OpenAI-Codex requests no longer send implicit `auto` service tier. Cursor K3 same-model history without thinking blocks emits graceful warnings instead of hard errors. DeepSeek V4 thinking-level: off now works. Custom/extension/hook tool wrappers preserve schema methods.
