# Roo Code CLI 0.0.53: auto-approve becomes the default, approval flags replaced

> The CLI now auto-approves every action — tools, commands, browser, MCP — with no prompt, and followup questions auto-pick the first suggestion after 60 seconds. The old `-y`/`--yes`/`--dangerously-skip-permissions` flags are gone; manual approval now requires the new `-a, --require-approval` flag, so existing scripts and anyone relying on prompt-by-default must change.

## What changed

- Default changed: all actions (tools, commands, browser, MCP) auto-approve without prompting
- Followup questions auto-select the first suggestion after a 60s timeout
- `-y` / `--yes` / `--dangerously-skip-permissions` removed, replaced by `-a, --require-approval` to opt back into manual prompts
- Fix: repeatedly pressing escape to cancel a running task no longer crashes the CLI
