Aider v0.55.0: pre-filled crash reports and `/settings`

Mostly a stability and quality-of-life release. Uncaught exceptions now offer to open a pre-filled GitHub issue, and a new /settings command shows the active configuration. Relevant if you hit startup or Windows edge-case problems.

  • Uncaught exceptions offer to file a pre-filled GitHub issue; many corner-case fixes came from that channel
  • New /settings command shows active settings
  • Startup: git repo sanity check with graceful exit; pause after model sanity check so warnings can be read; refuses to create a git repo in $HOME
  • Repo map now includes devops files; test and lint commands shared with the model
  • Won't re-ask about a file the user already declined to add
  • Windows self-update prints the pip command instead of running it
  • Many errors downgraded to warnings; new --tool-warning-color
  • Built-in linter disabled for TypeScript
  • /voice transcription errors now surface the WAV path for recovery
  • Version naming moved to setuptools_scm (vX.Y.Z.dev plus git hash); --update added as an alias for --upgrade
  • New --verbose output for shell commands; fixes for Windows shell commands and /model completions
