Cursor cloud agents can now subscribe to event sources (PRs, Slack threads, scheduled triggers) and drive work to completion autonomously. Custom modes lock a skill as the agent's persistent context. Subagents run on isolated virtual machines with clean project copies. The /goal command gives agents long-lived objectives. Steering follow-ups no longer interrupt the current tool call.
Cursor launched Origin, a code hosting service integrated directly into the editor. Paid-plan users get hosted repos, bidirectional GitHub sync, pull requests, agent access in every repo, and app integrations (Vercel, Depot, Buildkite). Agent-native features are promised but not yet shipped. Entry into a market GitHub has dominated means a new default for Cursor users — every reason to read the docs if your team uses Cursor.
Cursor introduces builds—pre-prepared environment snapshots that Cloud Agents boot from instead of setting up from scratch each session. Builds are cached, automatically refreshed, and agents fall back to the last successful build when a new one fails. Included with Cloud Agents at no extra cost.
Cursor coding agents can now read and write across Google Workspace through three new plugins. This gives agents direct access to mail, files, and calendar data, so anyone installing them should think about what an agent can now reach and modify.
Cursor is now available on iPad for all paid plans. The iPad layout is rebuilt with persistent sidebar chats, split-screen review, and full file diffs. Both iPhone and iPad gain a full PR review surface (comments, checks, approvals), an Inbox for organizing work-in-progress, and Apple Pencil markup on screenshots. Adds Bitbucket and Azure DevOps SCM support, multi-PR sessions, and in-app team switching.
Cursor launched a ₹649/month plan for Indian developers with local pricing, UPI payment, and access to Grok 4.5, Composer, always-on cloud agents, iOS remote control, and plugin/MCP support.
Cursor introduces Cursor Router, an intelligent model router that analyzes each request and sends it to the most appropriate model. Three optimization modes (Intelligence, Balance, Cost) let users trade off quality against spend. Admins can control routing per team or group, restrict modes, and set allow/block lists for underlying models. Available on desktop, web, iOS, CLI, and SDK; on by default for Teams plans.
Cursor in Slack now shares a plan before starting work, can launch in a named multi-repo environment spanning separate repos, and can read from and send messages to other Slack channels and threads during a task. Slack UI has been refined with compact footer links, cleaner tables, PRs, and artifacts.
Adds side chats that run alongside the main agent conversation with full context, local search across agent transcripts (Cmd+K global, Cmd+F in-conversation), redesigned project/repo pickers, and new cloud agent hooks for observing the conversation.
Cursor expanded team marketplaces with two features: Team MCP servers that admins configure once and distribute across cloud agents, IDE, and CLI; and organization-group-based access control for marketplace visibility alongside existing SCIM directory groups.
Cursor released a public beta iOS app for all paid plans. You can launch cloud agents from your phone, use Remote Control to steer desktop agents while away, and get push notifications when agents need input. Artifacts, diffs, and PR merges are available from the mobile UI.
Cursor introduces a unified Customize page bringing plugins, skills, MCPs, subagents, rules, commands, and hooks into one place at user/team/workspace level. A marketplace leaderboard shows popular plugins across the team. Plugins now support prebuilt canvases (Hex Canvas for data viz, Atlassian Canvas for issue tracking). Team marketplaces can import plugin repos from GitLab, BitBucket, or Azure DevOps.
